Sweet Heart - Poem by Karnail Singh Heirwale

Sweet heart

Sweet heart
Thy ogling
Is thy best take
I know
I saw you blushing per-chance
The other day
In the presence of that old dame
Guilding you
In the labyrinthine of a city
Where hearts are lost in a trice
In a trice recovered.
Ogling and blushing
Are nothing
But a stock-in-trade
To be displayed
To passers-by
What if one had leapt back to stay.
