The One Who Shows None - Poem by Claire Osterling

This anger that you and I feel.
It courses through my veins.
With every pulse, every heartbeat
Brings a new scream of rage.

My body convulses with anger.
As sweat runs down my brow.
My fists clench and unclench
As I bow my head down.

A hole in the wall
A hole in my heart.
This bloody lie told to all.
The one who shows none.

The mask you put on.
My eyes I must shield.
Your this ridiculous pawn
In this game of life.

Everyday I see you
My anger comes back.
Your truths are so few.
The one who shows none.

I hate your lies,
I hate your face,
I hate these emotions,
I hate this endless race!

Why cant you show any love?
Your dirty glares are daggers.
This haunting feeling from above.
Your worthless promises.

You told me that you would
Never lie to my face.
But of course your no good.
The one who shows none.

All your friends are now leaving
Your messed up self.
You can clearly tell I’m grieving
Of these truths that are never shown.

Your problems are so hard.
That’s what I thought.
Down goes your guards.
And we see your true self.

Now you revealed your lies.
The lies you’ve been living on.
Though they weren’t obvious to the eye.
The one who shows none.

I hope to never see you again.
But that’s almost impossible.
For everyone can hear you complain
Of the horrible life you made.

I cant stand the life you made yourself.
A life of hatred and lies.
You made a hard life for myself.
A life of depression and rage.

You’re the one with a life of lies,
The one with no one,
The one who kills hope,
The one who shows none.
