Thoughts On Our Last Normal Day - Poem by Ari Spuntini

I thought we were infinite
best friends was an everlasting promise
a gift sent from heaven
in the form of three girls
who never left my side
as much as i screamed
and as much as i cried
they were always comforting
an automatic assumption
that they would stay true until the end
but the day i've always dreaded neared
and that day happened to be right now
all of the sudden
my world came crashing down
was this really happening?
of course not, there's been some mmistake
a phone call of apology never came
left broken and betrayed
i sat there dismayed
in shock and in tears
the three angels from hell
where not what they seem
willing to betray in an instant
they were not what they seemed
but could this really be happening?
yes, indeed.
now so alone i sit here
and wonder all night
how long i can stand being alone
and seeing them all together
smiling and carefree
do they even notice how much they
trampled on me
they threw me to the floor
without a second thought
left to die in an empty shadow
here i lay broken
and never properly healed
supposedly best friends doesnt mean forever
and infinite ends today
these are just my thoughts
on our last normal day
