To Be Yours - Poem by Josefine Carrion

to be in your arms,
inhale your scent mixed with mine
smiling
as you look into my eyes
and whisper
me, too

to be in your thoughts
whenever you laugh, speak, dream
hung on my every word
wanting no one else
saying
i’m here

to be on your breath
anxious to see me
and tell me about your day
wondering
where have you been all my life

to be in your sighs
just to speak my name as
you live only for me
knowing that in the darkness
all we hear are heartbeats
and ecstasy

to be your all, the only necessity
and then I know it would never be enough…

…because
i’m
not
her.
