To Bravest Ones At Gezi Park - Poem by Feza Karaoglan

'When you face a stronger one
do you know when to stop?
to accept that you lost
no matter is the cost..'
This is what King Arthur asked
to his bravest Gawain
thinking all is in wain..

The young people in Gezi
they're also young and confused
of the violence...
They will no longer expect an excuse,
When you have nothing to loose,
you can risk everthing..
they will fight to death..
to the last breath.

But high was the price
as we will never forget
the faces frozen like ice
how brave they were
and gave us hope and strenght..
but let them rest please!
It's now time for peace..

Poet's Notes about The Poem

This poem is to suppport the activists and demonstrations that started in May 2013 as a small protest to save the 'Gezi' Park in Taksim square, center of Istanbul. The riot police violent attack on peaceful protestors fueled and have escalated into the largest and most violent anti-government protest that Turkey has seen in years.
