Torn Between - Poem by Antony Njenga
Between sweet death and life in despair,
A lover’s hate is as a hater’s love,
But all is fair in love and war.
When bitterness is all that drenches the air,
A wish or a prayer will alight as a dove,
And all that echoes is sounds of war.
A new-born brought to the throne as heir,
When all the push has comes to shove,
And hearts of all are torn asunder.
