Twirl - Poem by Gordon Jerome

It was a right cloudy day
As the herd made its way
Across the wide open range
But Ole Lasso knew
There was somethin a brew
When the wind started acting all strange
Now the clouds puffed and spun
Like the smoke from a gun
And a coyote started to wail
But Lasso Lou simply grinned
As he turned the herd to the wind
And headed them on down the trail
By now the weather was rough
But Ole Lasso was tough
We knew he’d bring em on through
So When Lou saw that twister
Let me tell ya this mister
He knew what he had to do
Now he lassoed its tail
And off they did sail
With Ole Lou dragging the ground
Then Lasso dug in a boot
And soon took up root
In awe no one uttered a sound
Then lasso gave it a whirl
And undone it’s twirl
And the clouds just drifted on by
And if ya don’t think it’s true
Just ask Lasso Lou
You’ll find him under any clear open sky.
“closing thought”
When faced with a problem that seems to big to be true
Never doubt in the power of the spirit of you
