When I Die, Remember This Alone - Poem by Kelly Kurt

I lived my life with honor, loyalty and openness
I made good friends and shared my smile
I accomplished much and had failures
I worked hard and goofed off
I reveled in my youth and enjoyed the wisdom of age
I lost
I won
But when I die, remember this alone
I loved you

Hopefully it's not for a good while yet. You've got too much left to write, and we've got plenty yet to discuss. A touching poem, and one I hope your children will in fact read (Report) Reply

I haven't been going strictly alphabetically... Sometimes I read by number of hits. And I'd like to hope there's a solid decade (or more) left in there... You're Kelly Kurt dammit

You are already at the Ws? : -)
I would love for my kids to read my stuff. I am glad you do as well. I may have a year or two left in me.: -)
I hope our discussions continue to be frequent and meaningful

Wow, Kelly, you are a great poet. I love the heart, and thought that you put into each line. I love that you included openness in your first line. That's something most people overlook, is being open to things and open to love. I also love that you put shared my smile, not just smiled, but shared your smile. So good! So powerful! Thank you for another great moment into your mind and heart Kelly! (Report) Reply
