A Companion, In God Poem by james watkin

A Companion, In God

Enraptured by this belief
Life's lone faring defies
Stood over, once, and from thence
For companionable need
Of whose proud Creator's heed
Unashamed satisfies.

For what, though dust-formed had been
For what, of earthen make
Was infused, that Man, tear-hot
With this Love; God's spirit.
That responding within it
We, of His joys partake.
