Exequy - Poem by Jon Doe

the metaphysical is a fulvous knell,
with earthly tones of antiquity,
an unwieldy uniform, palled ruin,
unconscious and sickly (moon or sun)
abased scourge of the meek,
our sublunary life, the charnel,
is brooding and beyod release
of a dismal glimpse at the soul

by the end, such an end,
being death is all that's required
still, a supposition am i
lambent and meekly waiting to expire
