Goodbye - Poem by Addie Taino
Dresses, suits, button-ups
We walk down the aisle
This glorious sixth-grade year of 2007-2008
Has come to an end.
Planting our individual flowers into the transparent glass vase,
We walk up the steps
And seat ourselves into the chairs.
Tears have been shed and laughs have escaped
Diplomas been handed, handshakes been had
Now is the time to walk out
We hear the soft notes of 'The Scientist' by Coldplay
Blare gently from the black speakers
And we light a candle for each of us
Taking the knowledge we have succombed
Throughout seven years, some may be less
But whatever the amount,
We still will remember...
