Knitted Together - Poem by Andy Brookes
The shadows of evening swept in cold;
November rains dashed the pavement.
Recalling the stations chill
Sixteen and an out cast.
Set adrift in a world of hostile strangers
The city a fearful place
Ah the consequences of forbidden fruit
Or loving, say, in the wrong direction.
Yet this survivor did reach sunny shores.
To find safe haven in your arms
With a click of souls like the final pieces of a jigsaw
We fitted into place,
And still a it is wonder to me.
