October - Poem by Gideon Ryan

Oh how you like to kick me when I'm down
To laugh at me when I'm already crying
I know its too late but we still try
There's no room for failure but failure if we don't

Shakespeare wrote of a concept
not love but rather the idea of it
A concept which only you and I can understand tonight

The fall comes after and we have fell
Into what i cannot tell
Could this be the concept
That unconceivable idea
Words shall not tell

So will you make the choice
To be or not
mine for the 'tober
For February ends so soon
