Restless - Poem by Michael P. McParland
Laying here restless still feeling quite sick,
I feel so tired but my body won't settle
and my stomch tosses and turns so I can't sleep.
Reach out your hand my sweet darling and
help comfort my restless body and mind.
Your sweet spirit and kind loving heart
are the greatest medicines known to me,
they have helped relax me many a time.
I am so restless here lying down with this sickness,
my audio books and classical music cannot calm me,
you being here with me while softly talking and reading
while holding my hand reassuringly would be the
greatest thing making dreams a reality,
soothe this restless mind and body to find
rest from this illness making me shake feeling
so hot but then so bitterly chilly.
I wish you were here to have your company calming
my weary mind and body.
I am so restless sweet dear but need the sleep to get well
please reach out your hand to take mine and in our love
soothe and relax me from this restless spell.
I love you so much and wish you were here,
your love makes everything so much easier to bare.
I'll be dreaming of you while I lay here in this restless state,
it will help make things easier in so many ways.
I love you sweet lady and miss you so dear,
please reach out your hand and come here so soon.
