Stolen Arrows Part 1 - Poem by Kim Barney

I shot an arrow in the air;
It fell to earth I knew not where,
And then I walked around the bend
And found the arrow in my friend.

(Sorry, no picture with this poem. My friend would not cooperate. He wouldn't hold still long enough for me to stick the arrow in him to take the picture. :)

Poet's Notes about The Poem

I call this series of poems Stolen Arrows because I stole the first two lines from Henry Wadsworth Longfellow's poem 'The Arrow and the Song'.
This series is a parody of his poem.

Actually his first line is: 'I shot an arrow INTO the air' but I like the meter on my version better.

Coming soon: a poem about how I actually got stuck with an arrow once.

    Poor friend. His plight made me smile. Strange! (Report) Reply
