Thank You - Poem by Claire Boyette

You walked up to me when you saw me crying,
Little did you know, I felt like dieing.
Who knew when you walked up to me in that moment of strife,
You’d be walking into my life?

For a while we were just passers – by,
You know, just saying ‘hi’?
Then one day, almost as if fate herself intervened,
We found each other alone, it was like a touch of destiny.

The moment I looked in your eyes, I knew I loved you,
I got scared, suddenly I didn’t want to be there.
After the road life gave me to tread,
These were the feelings I dread.

I wanted to run, I wanted to hide,
Instead I stayed by your side.

Baby you changed my life,
All because of that one moment of strife,
You brought me back to life,
Because though you didn’t know it, I was dead inside.
Now once again I can see the light.

All I’m trying to say,
Is thank you for that day.
Now this poem is through.
Just incase you didn’t know it, baby I love you.
