The Bower Of Comfort - Poem by Nakul Sood

I want to cry,
In the bower of your comfort,
In the cradle of your arms,
I want to rest—
I want to rest in your hollow
On your frame,
On your bony skeleton of acceptance;
In your peace.

I want to want
I want
Your comfort, your joy;
I want these tears
On the verge of discomfort,
I want expression
Speech, sight, touch,
I want a release—
Your passive offering above discomfiture
Your drowsing arms of water,
Swallowing my discomfort
In the depths of your existence.

I want to fall under
Your quiet eyes of empathy,
I want that proximity—
That vertigo of intoxication,
I want the shade of your shoulders
Washing against my head.
I want to rest
On the plains of your grasslands;
Under your light blue sky.
