The Wasteland Of Time's Heart Poem by William He

The Wasteland Of Time's Heart

The Wasteland of Time's Heart
By William He

How often the land of dreams wears the weight of pain,
Where the martyrs' cries anneal to gold, and char.
Sun's fingers weave light into the rich cloth of wealth,
While the moonlight bleeds through every hovel's bar.
A ghost-stream sinks through strata, cold and deep,
Feeding the roots of landlords, clay-blooded, risen.
In slumber, butterflies harness one thousand steeds,
Awake, the heart lies dormant in time's desolate hold.
