To Make A Wish Upon You - Poem by Jami Duke

Each night when I look up
Into the sky above me
My mind goes blank
And slowly starts to wander
On how you came about
To hang way high above
There are so many of you
Up in the vast, dark sky
Each one of you so tiny
But strickengly bright
You come out at night
For people like me
To gaze upon your beauty
Oh how truly amaze me
As you hang and twinkle softly
And then, right there
How very neat that was
It looked like one of you
Were falling right out of the sky
I heard way back
Just once before
That you were called a wishing star
All I have to do is close my eyes real tight
And think real hard and wish
And then go on my wat
To see what my then come
With the wish i wished tonight.
How truly you are amazing
And what a site to see
I'm so glad that you some out
Each night to hang above me.
