Who I Thought I Was - Poem by Manny Negron
.All this time.
.I was sadly mistaken.
.Thinking the right path.
.was the one I had taken.
.I can only speak.
.of things I’ve not yet done.
.And hope no one noticed.
.what I watched myself become.
.I disappointed myself.
.Life got the best of me.
.One thing I know:
.this isn’t how it should be.
.In hindsight it’s clear.
.what should have been done.
.Instead of convincing myself.
.the battle was won.
.Give your life, regardless of cost.
.Focus on the Kingdom, never lose sight.
.Don’t give up in pursuit of the lost.
.Fight the good fight, be their only light.
.You’ll be surprised at the things God does.
.I can tell you’re exactly who I thought I was.
