You Never Gave Up On Me - Poem by Walterrean Salley

Lord, I rejected You,
But You accepted me:
I eluded You,
But You pursued me:
I said, "no," but You heard "yes,"
I wanted no ties,
But You desired all of me.
I was blind, You gave me clarity.
When I didn't understand myself,
You understood every part of me;
And today, Lord, I'm so glad,
You never gave up on me.
