A Quiet Evening With You - Poem by Michael P. McParland
A quiet evening now within your arms is
how I would so very much like to wind this day down.
A quiet evening with you curled up
in my arms as I rubbed your back and stroked your hair,
as we both felt safe and loved being protected
by each other from the outside world.
I'm tired of it and the pains it causes
and I want my lady so we can both help heal
the wounds and scars upon us left by it
and take special care to repair those pains we caused each other.
A quiet evening with you in pure love
is everything in my heart and soul I truly need and want.
To the universe I say is that too much to ask
to have my love beside me spending time?
A quiet evening with you my dear is all I want
for you and me right now to talk away the hours.
A quiet evening with you just doing whatever
it is we wanted to taking it step by step as we go,
just do as we like as the time goes by because
spontaneity with you was always fun,
you make me smile my darling so very wonderful
and you excite me in so many ways from innocent
fun like kids to those tinglings between
a gorgeous woman and the man she loves
and he madly loves in return.
A quiet evening with my only one would make my heart
so very happy now and give us the comfort we so need.
Serving you is something I want so bad,
I have so much I want to do for you and I long
to give all of it to you to see you very happy and very proud.
I love you dear and I always will because
it's you I want by my side through all time.
You are my best friend and precious jewel
and right now I want nothing more than a quiet evening
spent alone with you curled up in my arms
and telling you how much I care and that you
truly are so very beautiful and magical,
you are a blessed gift from God in my view.
Oh my dear a quiet evening now is all I want with you
my sweet Angel bride and I pray it will come so soon
because I love you dear and I have so much inside me
I want to give and I want to give it all to you alone
my sweet lady I've loved since the start of time.
I want to give it just to you because I am yours
and yours alone for eternity my only one.
