Beautiful Words - Poem by Daniel Oliveira

And never have I told you
What never should be said
It took forever to want to say it
It took forever to have it said

What should never have been spoken
Voiced silent; voiced out ahead
And 'I’m sorry' to my cherub
But I said; said it again
As the tears emerged my voice trembled
What took forever to say; again I said it
And loud, louder above the choir
Of angles I cried to the floor
And 'sorry' to my cherub sweet

What took forever to say
Shouldn’t have been said
And over and over again
It screamed inside my head
I screamed inside my head
And on and forward
Again after this
I wish I hadn't
Wished I didn't
Gouge my eyes
Bite my lips
Scratch inside and scream within

The voice inside still hung low
And over and over again
To my little precious
And never have I told you
What never should be said
It took forever to want to say it
It took forever to have it said

Now don't cry porcelain angel
Don’t let this bring you down
It was forever before this happened
It’ll be forever 'till you fall down

And never have I told you
What never should be said
It took forever to want to say it
It took forever to have it said

And never have I told you
What never should be said
It took forever to want to say it
It took forever to have it said

And never have I told you
What never should be said
It took forever to want to say it
It took forever to have it said.
