Blue-Black Love - Poem by Kesav Venkat Easwaran

On that narrow pedestrian path,
Steeply hill side bound,
Behind an ample wayside bush
I heard a hissing sound

Peeping in, I found him loosely laid
About to lose his life
An itinerant snake charmer he,
His love for his trade was rife

Close to him I found her hiss and weep
His blue-faced, blue-lipped mate
And near to the charmer's broken pipe
I found his serpent's fate

Love possessive is blue in hue
Would transform love pink blue-black
Biting hard, it revengeful turns
No way to check its hack

    A poignant yet beautiful poem.
I liked how this marvelous poem has been crafted.
It will leave an indelible mark in the mind of a reader.
Yes, as love has the power to give life, nurture and heal,
it has also the power to take away life, destroy and promote
    hate and.bitterness.
A great poem with a meaningful message.

Yes. Love is a two sided knife. Trust is the sheath it needs on either side. Nice feedback on my poem Rose Marie. Liked

Yes, Indira. The revenge that comes out of possessive love is more poisonous than snake bite. How many girls are hacked, shot dead or subjected to acid abuse we daily read or hear about, in TV! Liked your insightful comment (Report)Reply

How agony of a love failure results in revenging and the pink love turns to be blue-black....the way you have crafted this poem is much remarkable and interesting 10 (Report)Reply
