Dead...Is What I Hope You'Ll Be - Poem by Jennifer Keith

Just fade away

So I can reveal a real smile

You're the image of what I hate

Weep if you like

I'm breaking and it's far too late

Save me the trouble

Of staining your moonlit skin

With tainted crimson wine

Even though you disagree

The time we shared was not so divine

Never hurt me again

Never put guilt on me again

I'll make sure you'll regret it

Because of your desire

The flame of the ghost within me was lit

Taking glances my way

Do you finally despise me?

The memories build up my doubt

The dreadful memories…

I breakdown and try to scribble them out

You come with an embrace

Disgust and guilt fill within me

You pulled me into your sick game

And yet I let you near

Even when all I ever felt was shame
