Alexander Grim

Half Human - Poem by Alexander Grim

Though the judges permit
Not tragedy
His heart was split
The eyes of fellow hearts
Never to see

Oh haunting demon
Oh tragedy
His heart was split
The latter be
An arrogant
Stuffy
Stiff like man
Whose pride will surely fade
Again
For those who condemn his arrogance
One among them
Is His romance
A beauty
Of angels
To put Juliet to shame
Oh how will He hold her close?
With His words again

The Former
A man
A murderous man
Who spills the blood of kindred hearts
To satisfy his need
For death, blood
And tragedy
He goes by the name
Of Sorrow Grim
He lives not without
But within
And he wants not His soul
Nor His mind
But to be released
And Him confined
And even though
Grim Made his presence known
The Man is ever more so
Alone

For who amongst the common folk
Would share his burden
Let alone with him
Or even know
Where to begin

His scars of Mind
And wounds of Heart
Are absolute
And worlds apart
For scars of Heart
Have long since healed
Guilt and pain long forgotten
But scars of mind created Grim
The cause almost begotten

So there he lives
All alone
Without Soul
Without Home
So why is it He is so alone
He is only
Half-human
