How I Loved Her... - Poem by Robert Crook

How I loved her
The one whom I admired
Whom I though of with love
The one whom helped my heart

My heart was dark
My heart was empty
Empty of love
Empty of emotion

Yet she kept me alive
Gave me something to live for
She gave me life and love
She gave me a love of life

Though I tried to show
My dreams of her
My love for her
Yet she never knew
