I Am A Flame - Poem by Lynzi Berner

I am a flame

White hot

Painful to the touch
but a source
of light

I can't be tamed
or I will smother
in my own toxins

Watch me dance
in vibrant colors
Stand close to me
I'll keep you warm
In your darkest hours
I'll help you see

But remember
try not to get to close
My kiss
could be the last thing
that you feel
