My Misery - Poem by Danielle Sim

Today's the day
The final straw
Were one sees
The line is drawn

Say goodbye
To loves delight
It swallowed us whole
With its righteous appetite.

Eyes are blurry
Feet are heavy
To find any excuse to
Stay in misery

To keep this up
This playful show
So that nobody ever has to know

The feelings are buried
Deep down to death
But now it’s wanting out
With each breath

To come out clean
To give all in
To play this long is just a sin
To let this go
To let you see

Being with you is my misery
The place where I can hear the screams
And all along my dying dreams
Here with you is a dreadful thing

Your poison to me
Your words are lies
Like a disease in disguise

Killing slowly with each bite
You’ve exhausted it all
With each fight.
I tried so hard and ill
Try no more
But my feet won’t carry me to the door

So here I sit
Just hateful prey
Waiting for the most wonderful day
When I finally decide

to leave..........................'
