No Mirrors - Poem by Lynzi Berner

There are no mirrors here

I don't want to see me
without you

My empty eyes
My forced smile

A shattered shell of me

I took them all down
and threw them away

No ghosts in the mirrors
to haunt me

Only in my heart

Where there once was love
now there is pain
Where there was once beauty
now scarred
Where there once was peace
now confusion

There are no mirrors here

I need no reminders
that your gone

I can feel the wind blow
through the empty space
that was once you
