Tear - Poem by Humera Sultana
In the fathomless deep sea of eyes
Is buried the oyster of life.
Ensconced in it is the pearl
A tear in it lies curled.
In that little conch shell
Is gathered the cacophony of the waves.
A soft shimmering tumult
A tear in its lustre exults.
When a tear oozes out of the eyes
It weeps an ocean in spite of its might
Its pearly soft inner glow on the profile
Freezes a salt sigh or trickles an outcry
Tear is salt and salt is strife
This is how it glistens in life.
