The Thoughts Of A Senior - Poem by Mara Dulce

I can feel it-
I'm almost free
I can't help but wonder
What's waiting for me
There's so much to do
And so much to see
I can't believe that
I'm almost free!

Poet's Notes about The Poem

This poem is unusual because I very rarely write when I am not going through a trial. 'The Thoughts of A Senior' was written during my senior year of high school.

A very nice poem Mara... Indeed our lives are all about freeing ourselves with time from the shakles that hold us and yet breaking free from those shakles are difficult because sometimes we actually become quite accustomed to that what traps us.... (Report) Reply

The sad fact is that as a senior in high school, your freedom is just about over. Life gets more and more serious after that...Then you die.: -)
    Thanks for sharing, Mara
