Back To The Ocean - Poem by Theresa Files
I went where no whale had ever reached.
The ugly creatures stare and repeat:
'There it is! Get it back to the ocean! '
I can no longer breathe, as my actions slow motion.
Lights flashing, these creatures dashing.
'What the hell is happening? ! '
Gasping for air, why can't I breathe?
A slow and painful death is what I'll receive...
I hate this new world and everything in it.
No one can save me...but wait just a minute...
I'll call for help! That's what I'll do!
They'll be here in a moment or two!
My family can save me! I know they will!
They'll just miss their daily krill.
I never thought I'd go out like this...
I can't help but wonder if I'll ever be missed.
