Bloody Apology - Poem by Andi Jakobs

Confusion and abstract choke my mind.
Hearts set ablaze burst under the pressure.
Slit in two pieces, bleeding heavily with guilt.
The scabbard looks to me; depression among my face.
The façade of happiness has come crashing down.
Two hearts shattered from one mindless being.
Earthquakes erupt in my head, rains flood my eyes.
Trembling from the monster inside me; fearing it.
Never can I forget what I have done to you.
The pain that hit your face sliced my wrist.
I cannot forgive myself for the words that flew.
Suffocation held me down like a puppet,
And let me not breathe a single breath.
Pressure slung on my shoulder like a wave.
I am scared to look for myself;
I can’t bear to imagine what I may find.
You’re precious heart was wasted on a lost soul.
I only hope my blood can serve as an apology.
