He Believes In God - Poem by Diantha Gray

We are the unlikely couple
Michael & Lisa-Marie
Demi & Ashton
Bert & Ernie
Anna Nicole & That old guy
We aren’t like
Brad & Angelina
Ben & Jen
Blessed with the privilege of having a
“Who’s the Sexiest? ” argument
We agree to disagree
at least 3 times a day
Living life’s cliché
of opposing attraction
I’m impulsive, he’s in total control
I’m a Taurus, a bull tattooed on my back
stars, planets, and dates, they’re important
He’s oblivious to his birthday
Until I’m wearing ‘that dress’
and buying him dinner
My Asian spirit complements
his guarded upbringing
I have no religion
he is a man of faith
I keep our secrets
he goes to confessional
Differences that ordinarily separate
bind us together
although, not without reason
I live in a land of make-believe
He believes in God

Ah, but does he write poetry? I love the honest analysis in this poem - an analysis written by the heart. Cheers. (Report) Reply
