Her Company Poem by james watkin

Her Company

It was offered me in friendship
As in terms of a lease.
Empty-handed, for more approved
Documents of release!

All rooms of that well-bredness
Polished mind-space, and plushed
For conducting through trod softly.
For to admire unrushed.

Their domestics' embarrassment
Of undeserved grandeur
My own appreciative reflex!
A three month long tenure.

In her acquaintance, a lady's for
Qualities teasingly glistened
Was I presented with, as it were
A jewellery box, half opened.

In a range of such refinements, each
Of flawless cut worn symmetry
As what did come with the attachment
Of a 'hands off' mentality!
