In The Eyes - Poem by G.R. Gaus

If you really look deep, try to see,
Through a person's, false disguise;
Not on the makeup, or fancy cloths,
Way down within; their honest eyes.

I've heard it said, and can't deny,
The eyes, are windows to the soul;
It's in the soul, we find our truth,
Like a human's, long black hole.

It's also been said, the soul never dies,
Moves on, through time, and again;
Traveling on, wings of the universe,
From the beginning, to a never end.

Poet's Notes about The Poem

Reincarnation isn't such a difficult idea to conceive of, although it goes against most religious teachings on our side of the hemisphere. I prefer to think that the soul lives on and it has experienced many places in the past and will go many more places in the future; rather than; burn in hell? To find this secret place, simply look deep into the eyes…..
