No Sounds - Poem by Perfect Fool

No sounds
Just gentle smoky light
The fluttering of a moth
Just outside
I can almost hear the peace in its wings
As it goes about the dead
The dead of night
Tasting cold glass here and there

Sea laps the cold earth so close
So close I can hear it breathing
A hazy moon watches
Looking deep inside
Gently enclosing its soothing icy grip
Around my soul
Protecting
Saving
Protecting

Everything around me seems to breathe
Like I’ve never heard it breathe before
And everything around me has a beat
To replace the one I’m lacking
Everything around me seems to have life
Except me

Every gentle movement
Made independently
A light flickers
The floor creaks
All at peace with each other
All at peace within themselves
Except me
