Sitting Back With You - Poem by Michael P. McParland
I sit here on this quiet morning by myself
I wish I were sitting back with you
within my arms holding you so very close
while I just rubbed your back and we kissed and talked.
I wish and long to just be sitting back with you
and smiling in contented peace feeling free
from all the lonely sadness that's plagued us
in our separated state.
I'm smiling now though dear because I think of you
so please smile for me too
and share this dream of sitting back with me
and sharing of ourselves while we do so very many things.
Sitting back and reading a book we both want
to read aloud to each other and share,
just snuggle up and watch some TV or a movie.
Get up and dance or snuggle up and kiss
while we listen to our favorite music,
or build a puzzle which I'm not great at
but with you it would be tons of fun I know it's so.
Together work side by side to get
all the chores around the house done
talking along to make it seem like fun.
Just sitting back with you spending time
while we did our thing is what I want
my sweet precious Angel Queen.
I want to be holding you my precious jewel
and look you in the eyes and say
I love you babe you are so cool.
My sweet Angel dove as I sit here all alone
on this quiet morning now I wish as always
that I was with you holding you so very close
curled up tight within my arms.
I'm smiling dear because I think of you
so please give me a smile too.
So many things through so many days
in the future we will have and we will do
and I can't wait to look you in your sparkling eyes
and say I love you Kira dear you are my everything.
So in spirit right now come sit with my my precious dear
and curl up in my arms where I can hold you near.
Feel my hand within yours now as I pull you
close within to give you a kiss.
I love you dear and through all time I always will,
I'll stick by you because you are my one.
So feel my warmth and all my love as I share
this dream of sitting back with you.
I love you babe you truly are my everything.
