Sudden Ripened World Poem by james watkin

Sudden Ripened World

How it was first looked upon
Adding to its wonder
There, hung, as the very fruit
Of delight, before us!
Sudden ripened world, a-gleam;
Sustained life as a dream!

At one time, and certainly
Not so much long ago
As from out geologist's
Calculations, hot-spun!
What in youth's eye, yet soul-smeared
Heaven's reflection neared.
