Why Not? - Poem by Leone Richardson

empty world full of people
bubbles full of empty life
elbows touch
eyes look straight ahead
can't be bothered
thanks anyway

do you see them?
can you smell them?
can't see anyone am too alone
can't smell anything am too alone
dried out of words
emotions centred
crumpled memories lost

a man there looking right up at you
put my shades on
pretend he's not there
an old woman
alone and wants to talk

why not?
