A Waste Of A Martyr - Poem by ERI CGP

Swallowed up by the earth
This undeniable hurt
Won’t go way in comparison
To what humanity holds securely
In their hands.

I’m at a loss
The cost of non-believers
Feverishly overcompensating
Just to fit in
Damn, if alive or not
Slip the knot over the demon
That possesses through the night
Which has a hold over a conscience
Faculties draining you of energy
A lion into a lamb
What’s the plan of attack?
It’s not to get close
They left you a long time ago
And want a piece of you after
Many years apart
It’s nothing new under the sun.

You hope when and if you
See them again
They’ll be proud of you
Instead of shaking heads in disgust
Or perhaps they’ll let you into their circle
Just to make themselves feel superior
To your obvious inferiority complex
That provides no transcendence
But a pounding headache
That has no cure
The allure of sainthood
Seems more promising
You’re in control
You’re to blame
If the game goes south
To feel secure
To feel safe
In one’s skin
Is a no-win situation
How can you proceed?
Even if you believe?
While they’re tearing you down
For they’re worried that they’ll
Be thrown out as mind gangsters
If you can turn it around.
If?
