Smile - Poem by levignia jaise

a smile
small and simple it seems
but to him so much more it means
he asks her what was that for
she thinks i couldn't love you more
he wanted her to say it
she smiles again and doesn't say a thing
it hurts when he holds her close so gently

she stumbles through into the morning light
and wishes he was here
even when she looks back she cannot forgive herself
but still she smiles
at the promises once held before she had a chance to hold them
she betrayed

cutting is the word that means what she is feeling
cut. cut open. exposed.
there is no other explanation
cutting. what a silly word
others talk of a broken heart
stone cannot be broken

she wishes oh she wishes
but wishes do not come true
misleading fairytales
a devestating ending
it is her fault

she thinks of him in certain hours
like from dawn till nigh
if only you could bring time back
he thought she was so strong
she still pretends a lot
she hasn't really changed she wonders if he has
maybe he saw through her
maybe he simply didnt care
she wasnt naive enough
no tears will fall because she smiles
